Someone should have made this standard practice years ago with the intent to discourage divorce. Or at least to minimize the emotional trauma of separation. All scenarios about breaking up come from a negative feeling. One or more parties is not happy like this, leading to break-up. The last thing in the world people want is to lose someone they love.
