The vaping epidemic is real. The number of middle and high school students who have tried e-cigarette or vape products has increased dramatically in recent years. Many students have become addicted to nicotine through these devices and turn to them to “experiment” with flavours, increase their tolerance level, or both.
The resulting damage from using these devices heavily outweighs any potential benefits they may provide. In light of this, it is no wonder many schools actively discourage their pupils from using them, and some even go so far as to ban them in classrooms.
Fortunately, there are steps you as a parent can take to help your child avoid becoming “vaped at school” — or at least inform them about how easy it is to do so once they get there.
Stay Informed
The best way to protect your child from becoming addicted to tobacco products is to be informed. When your child is in high school, they are more likely to experiment with e-cigarettes and other vaping devices than ever before.
