How NASA Lost Credibility
N.A.S.A. to start sounding like an ambitious international science project with a multinational partner. Agencies such as the European Space Agency (E.S.A.) or a domestic partnership such as the India-led Antares, the plan to reach the Moon is noble but requires realism and commitment from Nasa’s most reliable source of support. This is a globalized effort.
Nasa had certainly lost credibility in the minds of most Americans since the early 2000’s when it began a series of increasingly expensive projects, some of which never got off the ground or were cancelled. In the past, Nasa has produced some of the most ambitious and captivating missions in history: the Viking program, the Mir Space Station and the Kepler mission (a NASA-led exoplanet-hunting effort).
As we turn the pages of American history, we see how the U.S.’s interests were hijacked by the “military-industrial complex.” We see the fabrication of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, The Kennedy Assassination and the Bay of Pigs crisis, the invasion of Iraq under pretenses and the funding of neo-Nazi death squads and neo-nazi terror groups in Central and South America.
