The Concept
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology comprising a five-tier model of human needs. This is often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.
From the bottom of the hierarchy upwards, the needs are;
- Physiological (food, clothing, breathing, sex, shelter)
2. Safety (job security, education, personal growth and development, finances, health, intellectual property)
3. Love and belonging needs (the formation of friendship, intellectual stimulation, family relationships, sense of connection/purpose)
4. Esteem and self-actualization (respect, self-love, status, recognition, strength and freedom)
5. Healthy mental and emotional contentment
Needs lower down in the hierarchy must be satisfied before individuals can attend to needs higher up.
People With Bad Intentions
Keep this in mind at all times. When interacting with people, keep a mental checklist of these needs. If the opposing party does not have all their needs met, you may become prey. People will always find a way to meet…
