A Day in the Se><y Life of a Global Elite (The Librarian)
What They’re Up To, What’s On Their Mind
A Day in the Life of a Global Elite Librarian
When I was a kid, my grandmother would take me to the library to research for school. As the oldest girl in our family, it was vital for me to stay informed and be prepared for future job opportunities.
My grandmother knew that researching numerous sources would help me become a better scholar and a more discerning consumer. That’s one reason why she loved going to the library so much: She could read about global leaders and world events as they happened while also researching how to keep herself and her family safe from harm.
The other reason is that? Because, at times, the librarian was a global elite. The people behind those new, brown books weren’t always reading about politics or international relations, like us kids.
Instead, these librarians researched everything from geology to geography and even science fiction. If you’re like me and love learning about the people and things that affect your world, this is an exciting time to work at a library. Librarians are modern-day gatekeepers who research everything from politics to pop culture to protect our world from harm — often without notice or pay!
